Getting out of the comfort zone and pushing the aggressive shooting to see what's possible, repeatable, and where the wheels come off. Working in the training zone where mistakes happen. Be aware and able to articulate what went wrong, fix it at that speed, and you can start making gains in performance. This was a great setup to force aiming scheme changes on the fly and push the speed floating between different levels of confirmation.

PCSL All Rifle Match next month gives me something skills specific to work towards. I'll say it again, self-defense is abstract. It's not specific enough. Competing allows you to see where you're strong and where your weaknesses lie under pressure. This gives you something concrete to practice. It gives you direction. Those skills built have not only performance value but direct crossover defensive utility.
