Consistent index
Consistent index. One of the most important skills to master regardless of context.
Working with a small focal point on a scaled target at 10 yds/30 ft. From a match standpoint, it's very important. From a concealed carry standpoint, this is even more critical. Many times there is a large amount of time being wasted on the draw from lack of consistent index, overconfirmation, unnecessary or inefficient movement, and not being visually disciplined in finding a small spot to give the gun/dot/irons somewhere specific to go.
This is one of the biggest areas for immediate and significant improvement that clients see during the draw block of coaching in a class. The lion's share of real speed will come from your visual discipline and efficiency of movement, getting the gun out and up to your eye target line. Not from trying to just move your hands crazy fast, resulting in inconsistency and a sloppy grip.
A fast, efficient, and safe draw with a consistent index. Overdevelop the hard skills above and beyond what you think you'll need. This gives you plenty in reserve to work with once stress/pressure/unknown variables deteriorate your skill. Don't start from a deficit.
